Pontoon scissor trailer plans does anyone out there know where you can download plans for building a pontoon scissors trailer? there is a guy here in al that builds pontoon trailers, both regular and scissor.. The name scissor comes from the fact that once the pontoon is on the trailer, the pontoon boat is raised by a scissor action. one big advantage of the scissor type is the ability to lower the pontoon boat to the ground and then remove the trailer and be launches in shallow water.. I am towing a 20 ft pontoon on a older hoosier scissor type trailer with new tires and wheels...single axle...about 400 miles, and will strap the boat to the trailer in afew places.....is this a safe way to hall this outfit..
